Bristol International Balloon Fiesta
The biggest hot air balloon event in Europe!
Once again, the amazing free event will showcase more than 100 hot air balloons launching into the sky during the early morning and evening. There will also be the renowned Night Glows, where the balloons illuminate the sky while synchronized with music from BBC Radio Bristol.

The Cave Art of Lascaux: a Virtual Reality Experience at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery
Transport yourself to a bygone era 21,000 years in the past and explore the astonishing Stone Age cave art of Lascaux in captivating 3D.
This UNESCO-listed location in the Dordogne region of France was unearthed in 1940 by two teenagers. It showcases etched and painted images large and small, of many animals. These include bison, horses, ibex, large cats and even a rhinoceros. Additionally, you’ll find enigmatic symbols and abstract elements that add to the intrigue.

Unicornfest, August – September
Join the colourful arts trail of decorated mythical unicorns with Unicornfest 2023 in celebration of Bristol’s 650th anniversary.
From the start of July to the beginning of September, and each one painted by a respected artist from the West Country, this enchanting trail showcases sixty supersized unicorns exhibited at various famous spots in Bristol and the south west of England. These locations include the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare.

Shrek the Musical at the Bristol Hippodrome
The producers of Hairspray and Priscilla Queen of the Desert have collaborated with directors Sam Holmes and Nick Winston, along with designer Phillip Witcomb, to give a fresh look to this timeless tale for a new audience.
With a collection of endearing fairytale characters and catchy songs, including I’m a Believer, Shrek the Musical promises an entertaining evening at the theatre that everyone will enjoy.
