Weather
Bristol is in the South West of England and the weather here is milder than in the north.
However, English weather is famously unpredictable. It is always a good idea to wear a number of layers, just in case the day starts off sunny but ends rainy, or vice versa!
During the months of May, June, July, August and September, the climate is generally mild. The weather is often fine and sunny. However, we have a saying in England - if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes! The weather can be quite changeable. The day might start off a little grey and gloomy but, after lunch, it might be bright and sunny - or vice versa!
Spring is a great time to be in Bristol. The weather temperature is usually fairly mild and the trees begin to flower during these months. As Bristol is very green city with many parks, Spring is a very colourful season!
If you are planning to study here in winter, make sure you bring warm clothes and a coat. The coldest and wettest months are December, January and February. The average temperature during this period is 3°C. However, it rarely goes below 0°C and it is very unusual for it to snow in Bristol.
In summer, the temperature can reach 25 ° C if we are lucky!
In winter it can drop to below freezing, although the average temperature is 3° C and snow is rare!
