Class Representatives
Class Representatives have extra responsibilities at ELC Bristol – Thank you for offering your time to help your teachers and fellow students!
Read the information below. If you have any questions, speak to Shonie, Neil or John.
Introducing New Students
- Every Monday, new students arrive at ELC Bristol
- It’s your job as class rep to introduce new students to your classmates
- You should also make sure they have everything they need, and help them to ask if they don’t!
Looking After Your Classmates
- We have students of all ages, cultures and nationalities at ELC Bristol
- It’s your job as class rep to look after your classmates and make sure they’re okay
- You should try to help your classmates if you can – if you can’t, you should direct them to Shonie, Neil or John and send Shonie a message about the problem
- We have students at ELC who are 16-17 years old – take extra special care of these students!
Explain The Recycling System
- It can be confusing, getting used to different systems in a new country
- Remind your classmates of the recycling rules in school:
- RED for GENERAL WASTE
- GREEN for PLASTIC, METAL and GLASS
- BLACK for PAPER and CARD
Help With The Social Programme
- Class representatives may be asked to lead self-guided activities – Shonie will always check this is okay with you first!
- Shonie may send messages to the Class Reps WhatsApp group about the Social Programme – it’s your job to pass this information on to your classmates
Passing On Messages
- From time to time, you may be sent other messages in the Class Reps WhatsApp group
- You should pass these messages on to your class
- Don’t worry about interrupting your teacher – wait for a pause and then say “I have a message for the class from the class reps group”
