Mobile Phones

Introduction

We think it is a good idea if every student has a mobile phone. It is a good way for you to stay in touch with your friends in Bristol and if you have a mobile, we will be able to contact you in an emergency.

Local calls are much cheaper if you use an English SIM card. The school office has free SIM cards for our students from Giff Gaff and Lebara. Please come into the school office and ask and we will be happy to give you one. Otherwise, you can buy SIM cards in most supermarkets or phone shops.

Two well-known mobile phone networks, O2 and EE, have shops in Clifton Down shopping centre, which is a ten-minute walk from school. If you want to buy a phone or SIM card it is best to go into the shops and speak to someone for advice.

To top up your mobile phone (if you have a pay as you go SIM) you should contact your network provider or check their websites to find the best way. The Giff Gaff and Lebara SIM cards we hand out in the office come with instructions on how to top them up. You can also top up with a credit or debit card at many bank cash points.

Please keep your phones switched on after school and at weekends, as we may need to contact you in an emergency.

Please also remember if you change your phone number you must tell the office.
