Drone flying in Bristol is an excellent way to explore the surrounding countryside of the city and see the UK from unique angles!

There are lots of rules for drone-flying in the UK, and many areas where flying is restricted and/or illegal.  The best way to fly drones in the UK is with a licensed company who take you to legal locations.  Always check local laws and guidance before flying a drone!  There are three major companies who offer drone flying in Bristol in one-to-one or group sessions.  Read below to find out more!

Gloucestershire Drone School 

Location:  Cheltenham (about 2hrs from Bristol) 

Cost:  £100/half day course (£67 if an online course); free training video available online 

Info:  Courses use DJI drones and the drones are provided by the school

South Gloucestershire Drone Club Drone Racing 

Location:  Yate (about 45mins from Clifton by bus) 

Cost:  Event prices start at £10/person; Membership is £10/month 

Info:  Membership gives free access to practice sessions on Thursday evenings and all day Saturdays, as well as access to races and facilities at the venue.

Bristol Radio-Controlled Model Aircraft Club 

Location:  Duckhole, nr Thornbury (about 2hrs by bus from Clifton) 

Cost:  £120/year for senior members – more specific pricing can be gained by contacting the club 

Info:  Training for members is available from the club, with members preferably using their own craft but a craft is available from the club.
