Breweries in Bristol

There are a huge amount of breweries in Bristol for you to explore, take a tour of, and taste the various local ales and beers made in the area!

Taking tours of breweries in Bristol is a great way to immerse yourself in the city’s drinking culture, learn more about the brewing process, and taste some delicious local ales and beers!

Bristol has a healthy and vibrant community of major and microbreweries, each offering their own beers and many others made locally!  Read below and follow the links to learn more about the various breweries in Bristol, and which ones you can take a tour of!

Bristol Beer Factory 

Location:  Bedminster (about 30mins by bus or walking from Clifton) 

Cost:  Various 

Info:  You can buy and drink onsite, or buy crates/boxes to take home.  The brewery donate a lot of money to local charities.

Location:  Old Market and St. Werburghs (30-40mins by bus from Clifton) 

Cost:  Brewery Tours:  £20 + booking fee 

Info:  Tours are on Fridays and Saturdays, but you can visit for a drink any day of the week!

Lost and Grounded 

Location:  Southville (50mins by bus from Clifton) 

Cost:  Various 

Info:  Tours at 3pm every Saturday, lasting 45mins and including 3 X 1/3 pints of the beer being brewed that day.

King Street Brewhouse 

Location:  City Centre (30mins walk from school) 

Cost:  Various 

Info:  Part of King Street’s exemplary selection of pubs and with lots of ample seating – you can watch live sports inside.  Every year they take part in a charity barrel roll from Bath to Bristol!

Location:  St. Phillips (about 30mins by bus from Clifton) 

Cost:  Various 

Info:  Closed on Mondays.  Run a monthly drawing workshop on Tuesdays (see website to book).  Also host comedy nights regularly for charity.

Cost:  Tours are £20/person 

Info:  Tours run on Saturdays and include 4 tutored beer tastings.
