Basketball in Bristol

There are LOTS of courts where you can play basketball in Bristol!

Playing basketball in Bristol is a great way to make new friends, learn new sports-related vocabulary, and practice your speaking and listening skills!

Brandon Hill Court 

Brandon Hill court is free and requires no booking – but this might mean that there are people already there when you get there!  Scan the QR code to see where it is, and other information – this is about 15 minutes from ELC Bristol in Brandon Hill Park (just off Park Street, opposite Bristol Museum)

Victoria Park Courts 

Again, a free court, no need to book but may be busy.  Scan the QR code, this is a little further from ELC Bristol, in the Bedminster area of Bristol.  It would take about 45 minutes to walk there, about the same via bus.

Southmead Courts

Join a Basketball Team in Bristol 

If you want to watch/play basketball at a more serious/professional level, there are many clubs in Bristol that you can join and practice with, or simply go to games and watch! 

The Bristol Flyers

This is Bristol’s main, professional Basketball team.  You can watch the games live at Ashton Court Stadium (the same stadium for Bristol City FC and the Bristol Bears RFC).

Location:  All over Bristol and the surrounding areas

Cost:  From £3/session

Info:  Women’s and Men’s open sessions available; Inclusive and welcoming – no experience necessary, but they do have several teams which compete in local tournaments.

Blackhawks Basketball Club 

Location:  Filton (about 30mins from Clifton by bus, 1.5hrs walking) 

Cost:  Various, depending on membership 

Info:  You have to contact contact@blackhawksbasketball.co.uk to make sure there is space for you to join.  They are a professional basketball club who play competitively in the area.  Only men’s basketball available.
