ELC Bristol is family-run school, offering intensive General English and examination preparation courses in Bristol, a lively university city in the South West of England.



The school is open from 2 January – 21 December  

Main course starting dates 2018:

Elementary level students must start their course on a main course starting date.

Alternative starting dates: Students who are Pre-Intermediate level or higher can start any Monday.

No total beginners.

The school is closed but a free excursion/activity is arranged on each of these days except 1 January.

This is not an extra charge.  It is deducted from the total fees.

Late Arrival: Please try to arrive in your accommodation by 22.30. Arrivals after this time will incur a late arrival fee of £20.00.

Bristol Airport 







Heathrow and Gatwick: £45.00 (on arrival)

Students under 18 must have an airport transfer on arrival and departure. Alternatively, we can arrange a meet and greet service at Heathrow or Gatwick airport. The meet and greet service will be arranged through Airport Angels.

An airport representative meets you as you come through customs and escorts you to the bus station and makes sure you get on the bus to Bristol. They will then call your accommodation provider to let them know when you will arrive in Bristol. The cost does not include the cost of the return bus ticket which you can buy in advance online at National Express

The student will either be collected at the Bristol Coach Station by their host family or we will arrange a taxi for them. If the family are unable to collect the student, there will be no extra cost for the taxi.

Examination Preparation

Minimum period of enrolment: 4 weeks.

Examination courses include General English as well as exam preparation and electives on 2 afternoons a week.

In June, the Cambridge English exams are held in the week after the end of the course, so students should book an extra week's accommodation (if required).

Cambridge English exam preparation courses are not 'closed', which means that students can join the course at a later date if they are not able to attend for the full period (minimum period of enrolment: 4 weeks).

Courses are run throughout the year. The IELTS exam is held every month in Bristol and Cardiff.
