ELC Bristol is family-run school, offering intensive General English and examination preparation courses in Bristol, a lively university city in the South West of England.

The school is open from 3 January - 22 December 2017.

Main course starting dates 2017:

Elementary level students must start their course on a main course starting date.

Alternative starting dates: Students who are Pre-Intermediate level or higher can start any Monday.

No total beginners. 

Minimum period of enrolment: 2 weeks

The school is closed on public holidays. However, a free social programme activity is arranged on these days.


Deposit: £300.00   This is not an extra charge.  It is deducted from the total fees.

Registration Fee: £50.00
Materials fee: £50.00  The materials fee includes guided e-learning and a course book every 12 weeks.

Private Tuition:

Can be arranged in advance (£60.00 per hour) or on arrival at the school.

General Student Visa:

If you require a General Student Visa, you will need a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies).

Cost of issue: £21.00

Changes to bookings: £15.00 administration fee


Homestay: £155.00 per week
Includes bed (single room), breakfast and evening meal.

Student Houses & Flats (self-catering): £155.00 per week
£150.00 refundable deposit required for stays at St John's House, Granby Hill, St Paul's Road, Wellington Park, Mortimer Road and Clyde Cottage.

Goldney Hall University Residence (self-catering): £155.00 per week

Late Arrival
Please try to arrive in your accommodation by 22.30.  Arrivals after this time will incur a late arrival fee of £20.00.

Extra Nights' accommodation: £30.00 per night (on request).

LONDON MEET & GREET SERVICE 2017: £40.00 (on arrival) - FOR STUDENTS UNDER 18

Students under 18 must have an airport transfer on arrival and departure. Alternatively, we can arrange a meet and greet service at Heathrow or Gatwick airport. The meet and greet service will be arranged through Airport Angels.

Available on arrivals from Heathrow and Gatwick. An airport representative meets you as you come through customs and escorts you to the bus station and makes sure you get on the bus to Bristol. They will then call your accommodation provider to let them know when you will arrive in Bristol. The cost does not include the cost of the return bus ticket which you can buy in advance online at National Express

The student will either be collected at the Bristol Coach Station by their host family or we will arrange a taxi for them. If the family are unable to collect the student, there will be no extra cost for the taxi.

Please note that the exam fees listed above are provisional and are subject to change by the examination centre.

* Exam fees are payable direct to the local examination centre. 
The fee includes sending your certificate by registered mail to your home address.

** In June 2017, the Cambridge oral exams are held in the last week of term but the written exams are held in the week after the end of the course, so students should book an extra week's accommodation (if accommodation is required).
